Questions for any vendor
Put these to every supplier you are comparing.
- Can burn-in results be stored on the serial?
- Does it track firmware updates in the field?
- Can contract assembly be recorded?
- Can we quote the right probe or lamp?
- How are calibration standards controlled?
- Can installation reports be filled on a tablet?
- What does the software not do?
- What shapes the scope and the quote?
- Can the installed base be loaded?
- Who maintains templates?
Where the work usually breaks today
Circle the ones you recognise. They set the order of the project.
- Firmware versions drift between units
- Calibration readings stay on the test PC
- Board lots are hard to trace
- Consumables and spares are sold blind
- Installation reports go missing
