Questions for any vendor
Put these to every supplier you are comparing.
- Can it track the weight of every piece?
- Does it handle deep-draw vessels with annealing?
- How does the die register work?
- Can a set be blocked until all components are present?
- What about work sent out for coating?
- Do we need barcodes?
- Can stainless and aluminium items share one register?
- Can we move open orders and stock?
- How is scrap treated?
- Who maintains it afterwards?
Where the work usually breaks today
Circle the ones you recognise. They set the order of the project.
- Weight per piece drifts without notice
- Rejection is counted at the end only
- Dies and tools are scattered
- Outside coating returns are loose
- Sets are packed from loose counts
