  • Delivery dockets and tonnage

  • Test results outstanding by layer and chainage
  • Stage claims raised, approved and received

  • Telematics feed

Questions for any vendor

Put these to every supplier you are comparing.

  • Are asphalt plant dockets held for every truck?
  • Can a tender be priced by area, tonne and length together?
  • How does a rained-off shift get handled?
  • Can core and density results be attached to a chainage?
  • Are plant hours and fuel costed to jobs?
  • Are term maintenance contracts supported?
  • Can foremen use it where signal is poor?
  • Can it send claims to the client in the form they ask for?
  • Who sees tender margins?
  • What does it cost and how do we try it?

Where the work usually breaks today

Circle the ones you recognise. They set the order of the project.

  • Delivery dockets are matched late
  • Weather and plant slots disrupt the plan
  • Area and tonnage do not reconcile
  • Test results sit in separate files
  • Defect calls lack location detail
