Views by Role for Builders and Contractors
Owners, project managers, site engineers, billing engineers and storekeepers use the same site records for different work. Each role opens the screens it needs, on the device it has to hand.
One record, several readers
Construction firms usually spread work across people in different places, with the supervisor at the gate, the storekeeper at the yard and the billing engineer in the office. This software keeps the site, its stages, labour, material and bills in one record. Each role reads the part it acts on.
What each role does
How a day passes between them
The supervisor marks attendance and uploads photographs, and if work stops, the reason is recorded that day. The site engineer raises an indent and the storekeeper issues against it. At month end the billing engineer enters measurements and the bill is built. The owner reads the outcome as certified and unpaid amounts.
What the client decides
The exact screens and permissions for each role are laid down with the firm at set-up. A firm with a purchase team or an accounts team can add those roles. Entries still have to be made by people. The person doing the work owns the entry.
Frequently asked questions
Can a site engineer see the bills of other sites?
That is set per role during implementation. A site engineer can be limited to the sites assigned to them, while a project manager or owner reads across all sites.
Do all roles need a laptop?
No. Attendance, indents, photographs and stoppage reasons are entered on a phone at the gate. Billing and purchase screens are easier on a laptop in the office.
Who approves a contractor advance?
Owners and partners approve work orders and contractor advances. Whether another role may approve below a limit is agreed during scoping.
Can we add roles beyond these five?
Yes. Purchase and accounts roles are common additions. They are agreed during implementation.
