Client Payments and Invoices for Events
The advance, part payments and the final invoice are recorded against the event, with GST on the invoice. The balance due and the date the client promised stay visible.
Payments sit against the event
Who works with it
Accounts records client payments, raises the final invoice and follows up on the balance that remains. Owners can read the client payments received against each event. Both work from one record. The invoice is tied to the same event as the quotation, the vendor bills and the settlement page.
How it fits with your books
Payments made by UPI or bank transfer are recorded here against the event. Tally remains the place where the accounts are kept. An export of invoices and receipts can be built at set-up, and its format is settled with whoever runs the books.
What the company decides
The invoice layout, the GST details to print and the treatment in the books are for the client and its accountant. This is not an accounting package. It holds what each event billed and what the client has paid.
Frequently asked questions
Can the client pay in instalments?
Yes. Part payments are recorded against the event as they arrive. Each one reduces the amount shown as due.
Does it replace Tally?
No. Accounting carries on in Tally. Client invoices and receipts are recorded here against each event, and an export can be built at set-up.
Is GST shown on the invoice?
Yes. The final invoice carries GST. How it is treated in your returns is a matter for your accountant.
Can we see unpaid balances across events?
Yes. The report of client payments received lists the balance due against each event.
