Fire Protection System Installation Projects
Hydrant lines, sprinkler networks and alarm systems take weeks and swallow material. Each installation runs as a project with its own stages, issues, labour and handover record.
How a project is set up
Material and labour on the job
Pipes, fittings, valves, heads, cable, detectors and panels are issued from the godown against the project. Returns come back the same way. The difference between issued and returned is the material consumed, which is the figure an owner wants when a job looks costlier than quoted. Labour days and any hired machinery are entered against the stage they belong to.
Testing and handover
What the project record leaves out
- It is not a drawing tool, so designs come from your consultant
- It does not approve any design on an authority’s behalf
- Subcontractor terms are settled by you outside the system
- Retention and payment stages follow the contract you signed
Frequently asked questions
Can material issued be compared with the quotation?
Yes. Quoted quantity, issued quantity and returned quantity are shown side by side for every item on the project.
How are part payments against a project handled?
Invoices are raised stage by stage or on milestones you set, and each one shows against the project balance.
Can a project cover several buildings of one client?
Yes. A project can span the sites you link to it, and equipment lands in the register of the right building.
Who closes a project?
The supervisor or owner, once handover is recorded. Closing moves the installed devices into the service schedule.
