Transactional Email and SMS Integration for Business Notifications

For businesses sending order confirmations, OTPs or reminders by hand, we connect an email or SMS provider to your system so notifications go out automatically and delivery status is recorded against the record that triggered them.

When Email or SMS Is the Right Channel

Not every notification belongs on WhatsApp. Email suits detailed confirmations, invoices and documents that customers want to keep, while SMS reaches someone reliably even without an internet connection, which matters for OTPs and time-sensitive alerts. Integration means your system sends the right one automatically, at the moment the underlying event happens.

What Gets Sent Automatically

Transactional Email

Order confirmations, invoices, password resets and account alerts sent through a dedicated email provider, with templates that match your brand rather than a generic system email.

SMS Alerts and OTPs

One-time passwords, delivery updates and appointment reminders sent through an SMS gateway registered under your business, with delivery reports written back to the triggering record.

Bounce and Delivery Tracking

Failed or bounced messages are flagged against the customer record instead of disappearing silently, so a wrong number or email address gets corrected rather than repeated.

Compliance Requirements Specific to India

  • SMS sent to Indian numbers must go through DLT-registered templates and a registered sender ID, which is a regulatory requirement, not ours.
  • Promotional SMS and transactional SMS are treated differently under DLT rules and need separate registration.
  • Email needs SPF, DKIM and DMARC records set up correctly on your domain, or messages risk landing in spam.

What This Replaces

  • Staff manually typing and sending SMS reminders for appointments or renewals
  • Customers who never received an OTP because it was sent from an unregistered number
  • Invoices emailed one at a time instead of the moment they are generated
FAQ

Frequently asked questions

Do we need to register anything before SMS integration can start?

Yes. DLT registration of your business entity, sender ID and message templates is required by telecom regulation before any transactional or promotional SMS can be sent to Indian numbers. This registration is done under your business, and we guide you through the process.

Can the same system send both email and SMS depending on the situation?

Yes. A common setup sends SMS for time-sensitive or short alerts like OTPs and delivery updates, and email for anything longer or document-based, decided automatically by the type of notification.

What happens if a message fails to deliver?

The provider's delivery report is captured and matched back to the record that triggered the message, so a failed OTP or bounced invoice email is visible rather than assumed to have gone through.

Can we keep using our current email or SMS provider?

In most cases, yes. We connect to your existing provider's API rather than requiring a switch, unless that provider cannot support the volume or delivery tracking you need.

What drives the cost of an email or SMS integration?

The number of notification types, whether both channels are needed or just one, how many templates require design, and whether delivery-status tracking is written back into your system automatically.

What sets the timeline for email and SMS setup?

How quickly DLT registration and sender ID approval come through for SMS, and how soon your domain's email authentication records can be set up and verified.
