What a Household Products Manufacturer Should Track Every Month
Track six things each month: material issued against the recipe, rejected and reworked packs, stock by pack size, scheme free packs given, leakage and damage claims, and distributor dues. GullySystem’s production and ordering software hold most of these records together, so the review draws on one source.

Material used against the recipe
For each powder or liquid batch, set the quantity the recipe expected beside the quantity issued. Add the batch size and the operator.
A small drift each month does not show on any single day. It shows in the margin weeks later. A monthly list by material and by shift tells you where to look.
- Base and surfactant issue per batch
- Fragrance and colour issue
- Operator and shift
- Reason noted for each large difference
Rejections and rework by stage
Count rejected pouches, leaking bottles and loose cartons at the stage where they were found. A total at the end of the month hides the cause.
Rework needs its own count. A pouch repacked twice has used film and labour twice.
Stock by pack size
One product in six sizes means six sets of film, caps and cartons. Review packing material by size, against the runs already planned.
Short stock of one carton size can stop a line that has everything else. Reorder levels per item catch it earlier.
Schemes and free packs
List every scheme that ran in the month, with its dates, its slabs and the free packs given. Compare it to the stock that left the godown.
If free packs are not counted, the scheme looks cheaper than it was. If they are counted against the scheme, the cost is visible.
- Scheme name and dates
- Slab or free pack offered
- Quantity given by distributor
- Claims raised against it
Claims and distributor dues
Review leakage and damage claims by batch and by route, with the photograph attached. A pattern by batch points at the plant. A pattern by route points at transport.
Read distributor ageing at the same sitting. A hold decided after the next order ships has not held anything.
Monthly household products review
Rule a page into six blocks: material variance, rejections by stage, stock by pack size, scheme free packs, claims by batch and dues by distributor. Fill one line per item and mark the largest in each block.

Does the software work out cost per unit for a batch?
Not on its own. It records material consumed, rejection and wastage for each batch. A cost per unit of the finished pack is not calculated, and your accountant can work from the records.
Can we track schemes without distributor logins?
Yes. Schemes are set up with their dates and printed on the invoice as a line, whether the order came from a login or a salesman’s entry.
Do we need all six lists from the first month?
No. Start with material use and claims, which usually show leaks first, and add the rest as the records fill.
