Questions for any vendor
Put these to every supplier you are comparing.
- Is it only for elevator companies?
- Can each lift be kept as its own record?
- How are routine service visits planned?
- What happens when a breakdown call comes in?
- Can the technician fill the checklist on a phone?
- Does it hold inspection and test papers?
- Can spares be tracked to a particular lift?
- Can AMC instalments be invoiced automatically?
- Does any of this go across to the accounts?
- Who owns the lift and customer records?
- How soon can technicians and the office run on it?
- What does a lift company prepare in advance?
Where the work usually breaks today
Circle the ones you recognise. They set the order of the project.
- Night calls reach the wrong technician
- Monthly visits cannot be proven
- Parts on non-comprehensive AMCs go unbilled
- Licence renewals are missed
