What the software should cover

Tick each one that matters to your business.

  • Site survey capture
  • Charge point quotation
  • Operator application tracker
  • Unit serial register
  • Commissioning test sheet
  • Backend and app linking
  • Fault calls and warranty

Roles that need their own access

Who logs in, and what each person may see or change.

  • For owners
  • For surveyors
  • For fitters and electricians
  • For the office
  • For fleet and property clients

Reports to ask for

Ask to see each one with your own sample data.

  • Quotes still open, accepted or declined, split by customer kind
  • Grid connection requests with their reference, state and lapse date
  • Chargers fitted per model, listing serial and address
  • Finished test sheets, plus chargers never joined to a network account
  • Breakdown calls per charger model and the manufacturer claims filed
  • Deposit and stage invoices owed or banked, job by job
  • Annual depot inspection contracts nearing their renewal date

Systems it may need to connect to

Note which ones you already run.

  • Email
  • SMS
  • WhatsApp or other messaging
  • Card and payment gateway
  • Accounting export
  • Charger network backend (scoped separately)

Questions for any vendor

Put these to every supplier you are comparing.

  • Is it for home installs, car parks or both?
  • Can the survey feed the quotation?
  • How are connection applications tracked?
  • Can a firmware notice be traced to sites?
  • Do fitters need signal on site?
  • Who writes the installation certificate?
  • Is the charger network backend connected?
  • Can fault calls be separated from warranty claims?
  • How do we move our current records?
  • What does it cost?
  • When could surveyors and fitters begin using it?
  • What should the installer prepare before the first session?

Where the work usually breaks today

Circle the ones you recognise. They set the order of the project.

  • Survey notes stay in a photo roll
  • Operator applications drift
  • Serial numbers are not matched to sites
  • Test readings are loose papers
  • Backend activation is forgotten
