Energy · Software for eV charger installers

Every charger tracked from site survey to energisation certificate.

An EV charger installer surveys the site, designs the supply, fits the units and commissions each one against a set of signed test readings. The software holds the survey, load check, serial numbers and handover pack against every charge point, so a warranty claim or an operator query is answered from one record.

At a glance

An installation looks simple from the car park. Behind it sit a site survey, a supply capacity check, armoured cable runs, protective devices, a board upgrade and a network operator application that can outlast the fitting itself. None of this shows.

The software keeps these steps in order for each charge point. It ties the unit serial number to the site, the fitter and the test readings taken before energising, so the file answers every later question.

How the work runs today

Enquiries arrive from homeowners, landlords, fleet managers, housing associations and property agents. A surveyor notes the consumer unit, the cable route, the distance to the parking bay and the spare supply capacity. The quotation lists the unit, the cable, the isolator, any earthing work and the labour as separate lines. A car park or depot with many bays needs a load balancing design and a connection request to the distribution network operator first, so no date is promised early. Dates slip here.

On the day, a two-person crew fits the unit, runs the cable and tests earth loop impedance, insulation resistance and the residual current device. Commissioning links the charger to its backend and an app account, and customers ask for the certificate, the warranty card and the user guide. Later, faults arrive as a flashing light or a refused session, and the office must find which unit it is. Speed matters.

Where it breaks

What goes wrong for eV charger installers without a proper system.

Survey notes stay in a photo roll

The consumer unit photo, the cable route sketch and the spare capacity reading sit on the surveyor’s phone, and the quotation is written from memory. The fitter finds a longer trench than priced.

Operator applications drift

Each large site needs a connection application and a reply, and the dates, reference numbers and conditions are kept in email threads. A crew is booked long before approval arrives. Nobody notices until the day.

Serial numbers are not matched to sites

Units leave the stockroom by the pallet. When a manufacturer issues a firmware notice or a recall, nobody can list which addresses received which serial numbers, so the search starts from supplier invoices.

Test readings are loose papers

Earth loop, insulation and RCD trip results are written on a form the customer takes away, and the certificate is typed later. When a fault is reported, nobody can search the figures that were taken on the day.

Backend activation is forgotten

The unit is fitted and live, but the network account was never linked, so the driver cannot start a session. The call lands on a Monday morning. Two crews are already out.

What the software does

What we would build for eV charger installers.

Named the way your team already talks about the work. We start with whichever part the audit shows is costing you most.

Site survey capture

Record the consumer unit, spare capacity, cable route length, bay position and photographs on the enquiry, so pricing comes from facts, not a guess in the van.

Charge point quotation

Build quotes from your unit models, cable per metre, isolators, earthing work and labour, with a revision history and operator fees on a separate line. Nothing hides in the labour figure.

Operator application tracker

Hold each connection application with its reference, submitted date, reply, conditions and expiry, and keep the install date blocked until approval is on file. No approval, no date.

Unit serial register

Receive units by serial number. Issue each to a job, and the unit, site, fitter and firmware version stay together, so a recall becomes a query rather than an invoice hunt.

Commissioning test sheet

Capture earth loop, insulation and RCD readings on a phone, add a photo of the board, and generate the installation certificate and handover pack before the van leaves.

Backend and app linking

Track the account, the charger identity and the first successful session as the last step of every job, so no unit is left unlinked. The first session closes the job.

Fault calls and warranty

Log each fault by unit serial, send an engineer with the install record on a phone, and note the parts claimed from the manufacturer. Warranty follows the serial number.

How it works

How the work runs from Bengaluru for your city.

  1. 1

    The audit, by call

A screen-share and a look at the sheets, accounting reports and WhatsApp groups your team uses. No travel needed.

  2. 2

    A written proposal

Scope, what we build first and the cost, agreed in writing before anything starts.

  3. 3

    Build in short rounds

Working screens shared every few weeks. Your team tests them from your own office.

  4. 4

Go-live, in person when it helps

For data migration and training we can come to your city. Travel is agreed in advance.

  5. 5

    Support online

Fixes, changes and hosting handled remotely by the same team that built it.

Common questions

Questions eV charger installers ask before they call.

Can a site with many bays be one job?

Yes. A car park with twenty bays is one job with a charge point line for each bay, and each line has its own serial, test sheet and activation status. Nothing is lumped together.

Do we need this for a handful of home installs a month?

Not always. A small team can manage on a survey form and a folder of certificates, but the records matter once several crews work in parallel, each fitting another model.

Can the certificate be produced from the test readings?

Yes. The readings entered on site fill a certificate layout that you approve during set-up, and your electrical lead checks the wording against what the regulator asks for. Each authority words its forms a little differently. We do not supply it as a legal form.

Does it connect to the charger network backend?

Not by default. The system records the account and the charger identity so staff can check activation, and a direct connection to a backend is scoped separately after the first workshop.

How is a charger installation firm quoted?

Surveyors and crews who log in, the charger networks to link, and multi-bay sites with load balancing designs all feed it. Operator application tracking is a separate part. Survey capture is tried at a genuine site first, and figures follow.

What should an installer have on hand before kickoff?

Bring a survey note, a quotation with line items, an operator application, a serial list and a commissioning test sheet. Backend access details help. Pick the lead surveyor and the lead electrician for checks.

Are survey and test records ours if we change platforms?

Surveys, serial lists, commissioning readings and warranty calls are the firm’s own. Open-format exports are there for the asking, and the installer holds the code. One team does both the building and the repairs. Nothing about EV charger installers is locked in.

What happens after I share my requirements?

An engineer reads what you send and replies within one business day. We then look at the software, spreadsheets and WhatsApp groups your business runs on today and write down what works, what slows your team down and what is missing. A demo login, a screen-share or a few screenshots are enough. You get a short written summary ordered by priority, with no obligation to hire us afterwards.

How much will the software cost?

We don’t publish a price, because it depends on what the system has to do. That first review settles the scope, and the cost goes into a written proposal before any work starts.

What happens after you share your requirements

  1. A senior engineer reads your answers. Nobody phones first.
  2. Within one business day you get a written note: what we understood, what we would start with, and the questions we still have.
  3. If it fits, a proposal follows with the order of work, what we need from you and what you receive at each step.
  4. No call is booked and nothing is paid until you have read the note. Your details stay with us.
