A checklist built from how eV charging operators work, to print or save as a PDF and bring to any supplier meeting.

Share your requirements

What the software should cover

Tick each one that matters to your business.

  • Sites, chargers and connectors
  • Sessions and tariffs
  • Fault tickets and field visits
  • Host agreements and settlement
  • Fleet accounts and driver cards
  • Spares, energy bills and refunds

Roles that need their own access

Who logs in, and what each person may see or change.

  • For the control desk
  • For field technicians
  • For site and commercial managers
  • For accounts
  • For the operations head

Reports to ask for

Ask to see each one with your own sample data.

  • Connectors by status with hours since the last session
  • Fault tickets by model, fault type and technician
  • Sessions, energy delivered and revenue by site
  • Host settlement due, with agreement terms applied
  • Utility bill per site meter against energy delivered
  • Fleet statements by vehicle card and cost centre
  • Spares short by van and store

Systems it may need to connect to

Note which ones you already run.

  • Charge point backend feed
  • Payment gateway
  • Email
  • SMS
  • WhatsApp
  • Accounting export

Questions for any vendor

Put these to every supplier you are comparing.

  • Does it replace our charge point backend?
  • How do sessions get in?
  • Can a fault ticket start from an alarm?
  • Can hosts see their own site?
  • How are refunds for cut-off sessions handled?
  • Can one technician cover many sites?
  • Do you support different currencies and taxes?
  • What does it cost?
  • Can the data leave if we change systems?
  • How long before the control desk works faults in it?
  • What must the operator have ready first?

Where the work usually breaks today

Circle the ones you recognise. They set the order of the project.

  • Faults are known but not owned
  • Sessions and payments are read from separate reports
  • Landlord payouts are a monthly spreadsheet chore
  • Energy bills do not line up with sessions
  • Fleet statements are rebuilt every month
