  • Bench plan and blasting log
  • Block register
  • Grading and inspection notes
  • Yard bays and crushed stone stock
  • Machine hours and diesel
  • Dispatch, orders and invoices
  • Lease, permit and royalty dates

Roles that need their own access

Who logs in, and what each person may see or change.

  • For the quarry owner
  • For quarry managers
  • For blaster and drill crew
  • For yard supervisors and inspectors
  • For weighbridge and accounts staff

Reports to ask for

Ask to see each one with your own sample data.

  • Blast log with holes, charge and rock moved per bench
  • Yard stock by bay, grade and size, unsold blocks oldest first
  • Crushed stone stock and dispatch by size and day
  • Diesel and machine hours by rig, saw, loader and crusher
  • Buyer balances and dispatches with the oldest unpaid first
  • Lease, permit and royalty dates falling due

Systems it may need to connect to

Note which ones you already run.

  • Weighbridge
  • Email
  • SMS
  • WhatsApp or other messaging
  • Accounting export

Questions for any vendor

Put these to every supplier you are comparing.

  • Can a buyer’s complaint about one block be traced to its blast?
  • Does it work for both blocks and crushed stone?
  • Who records the blast, and when?
  • How are yard blocks found without walking the bays?
  • Can machine cost be read per cubic metre?
  • Can lease and royalty dates be set up?
  • Do weighbridge tickets need re-entry for invoices?
  • What happens to our existing block register?
  • Is a quote available before we commit?
  • If we ever stop, do our block records come with us?

Where the work usually breaks today

Circle the ones you recognise. They set the order of the project.

  • A block number is lost between face and yard
  • Blast records sit apart from output
  • Grading differs between inspectors
  • Machine hours and diesel are guessed
  • Lease and royalty dates live on loose paper
