Questions for any vendor
Put these to every supplier you are comparing.
- How is a cylinder tied to its tube and rod?
- What is saved at the test bench?
- Can repairs reuse the original record?
- How are rods sent for chrome plating handled?
- Can we store spool and bore clearances?
- Does it work for custom, one-off blocks?
- What decides the quotation?
- Can older serial records be loaded?
- Who changes the test sheet layout?
Where the work usually breaks today
Circle the ones you recognise. They set the order of the project.
- Bore and rod sizes are not paired
- Plating leaves the shop unrecorded
- Seal kits are chosen by guess
- Cleanliness results are not stored
- Repairs come back without history
