Questions for any vendor
Put these to every supplier you are comparing.
- Does it track the mould or only the press?
- Can shot counts come straight from the machine?
- How does it handle regrind?
- Can it work for customer-owned moulds?
- What about insert moulding and assemblies?
- Can operators use it with gloves and a noisy floor?
- Can records leave the system?
- What does the demo and quotation look like?
- Is training included for the floor?
Where the work usually breaks today
Circle the ones you recognise. They set the order of the project.
- Shot counts live on the press
- Material history missing from the part
- Quoted cycle time drifts from actual
- Mould changes eat the schedule
- Rejects have no cause attached
