Questions for any vendor

Put these to every supplier you are comparing.

  • Can a finished lot show what went into it?
  • Does it work with an outside sterilisation vendor?
  • Can stock be shown by expiry?
  • Does it manage private-label packs?
  • How are rejects recorded?
  • Can quality staff hold a lot?
  • What if a hospital reports a lot?
  • What does the quote depend on?
  • Can old stock and lots be loaded?
  • Does the software certify our records?

Where the work usually breaks today

Circle the ones you recognise. They set the order of the project.

  • Component lots are not linked to the finished lot
  • Sterilisation loads mix several lots
  • Shelf life is counted on paper
  • Line clearance is on paper
  • Customer returns start a long search
