What the software should cover

Tick each one that matters to your business.

  • Element schedule by project
  • Casting bed and mould planning
  • Rebar cage and embed checklist
  • Pour, cube and demould record
  • Yard bays and stacking
  • Loading and erection sequence

Roles that need their own access

Who logs in, and what each person may see or change.

  • For owners and plant managers
  • For production planners
  • For the steel shop and fixers
  • For quality staff
  • For yard and dispatch

Reports to ask for

Ask to see each one with your own sample data.

  • Marks by status, project and bed
  • Cube results against lifting and delivery strength
  • Mould pour counts and repairs
  • Yard stock by bay, age and mark
  • Drawing revisions issued after cage fabrication
  • Deliveries by project, trailer and rejected marks
  • Stage invoices and retention by project

Systems it may need to connect to

Note which ones you already run.

  • Spreadsheet import
  • Email
  • WhatsApp
  • Drawing file storage
  • Accounting export
  • Weighbridge entry

Questions for any vendor

Put these to every supplier you are comparing.

  • What if a drawing revision arrives after the cage is made?
  • Can it stop a unit being lifted too early?
  • Does it count how often each mould is used?
  • How do we find a mark in the yard?
  • Can trailers be loaded to match the erection sequence?
  • How are rejected elements handled?
  • Is the project view shared with the contractor?
  • What does it cost, and what do I see first?
  • Can the plant take its records out later?

Where the work usually breaks today

Circle the ones you recognise. They set the order of the project.

  • Drawing revisions reach the bed late
  • Embedded items are missed
  • Lifting strength is judged by the calendar
  • Yard stock is hard to find
  • Erection order and loading disagree
