Questions for any vendor
Put these to every supplier you are comparing.
- Can it record moisture on each paddy load?
- How is milling yield calculated?
- Can we log parboiling times?
- Does it value bran and husk?
- Can the scale feed the weight in directly?
- Can it follow bags by stack position?
- Does it handle custom milling for farmers?
- Who owns the records?
- How do we get a price?
Where the work usually breaks today
Circle the ones you recognise. They set the order of the project.
- The gate price and the final yield are never compared
- Parboiling and drying times are unrecorded
- Broken share is only measured at the end
- By-products are not valued
- Bags are counted by stack
