Questions for any vendor
Put these to every supplier you are comparing.
- Does it compare measured losses with the tender?
- How is silicon steel traced to a unit?
- Can we plan drying ovens and oil filling bays?
- Where do copper and paper stocks appear?
- How are inspector visits handled?
- Can plate details be printed from the test record?
- What happens to a unit returned for rewinding?
- Do you keep type test certificates?
- Can existing order history be loaded?
- What does an evaluation look like?
Where the work usually breaks today
Circle the ones you recognise. They set the order of the project.
- Loss limits are quoted, then forgotten
- Core steel is not traced to a unit
- Winding wire runs out mid-order
- Test readings are copied between sheets
- Inspection calls are booked by phone
