Questions for any vendor

Put these to every supplier you are comparing.

  • Is it only for CCTV and security system installers?
  • Can camera serial numbers be kept against each channel?
  • Does it watch the cameras or hold the recording?
  • How are AMC visits scheduled?
  • Can complaint calls be assigned to a technician?
  • Can material issued to a site be tracked?
  • Does it handle advances and part payments?
  • Can these numbers go into our books?
  • Do we need it for two installations a month?
  • Who owns the site and device data?
  • How soon would the technicians use it on live sites?
  • What should an installer have ready beforehand?

Where the work usually breaks today

Circle the ones you recognise. They set the order of the project.

  • The battery warranty cannot be proved
  • AMCs lapse without anyone noticing
  • The technician goes without the right spare
  • Old customers do not return for batteries
