Views by Role in a Car Detailing Studio
A detailing studio has four groups of users, and each one opens the screen it works from. Owners, the front desk, floor supervisors and technicians read the same bookings and job records.
One record, four working views
Studios often run bookings from a diary, jobs from a WhatsApp group and dues from Excel, so each person works from a different source. Here a booking, a car and a job sit on one record. Entry happens once. The floor and the owner then read from that same entry.
What each role sees
How a job passes between them
At check-in the desk finds the car by registration number, and past jobs, preferences and any package balance appear before a price is quoted. The floor supervisor assigns the job to a bay and to a trained technician. The technician marks it started and finished. Chemicals are recorded against the job type, and billing follows from the booking.
What the client decides
- Which staff see prices, dues and package balances
- Whether technicians use their own phones or a shared tablet in the bay
- Which owner views are shared with managers at other outlets
- Who may reschedule a booking or change a bill
Frequently asked questions
Does a technician see customer billing?
No, unless the studio decides so. Technicians see their jobs and the car’s history. What each role sees is set with the client at implementation.
Which devices does each role use?
The front desk works in a browser at the counter. Technicians and supervisors use a phone or tablet, and owners can check from a phone.
Can one person hold two roles?
Yes. In a small studio the owner may also run the front desk. Access can be combined for one login.
Who sets up the roles?
GullySystem sets them up with the studio before the first booking, and later changes go to the team that built the system.
