Reports and Dashboards for Caterers
These reports bring together what a caterer otherwise keeps in a register, a notebook and a purchase slip. Each one is read from the records the event desk, kitchen and accounts already update.
Records read as one
Event details sit with the order desk, recipes with the kitchen and receipts with accounts, and a question such as which function made money needs all three of them. These reports read the shared records, so the answer comes from one place. Figures change as entries are made.
The reports
Who acts on them
Owners read events and cost against rate. The buyer works from the purchase list. Supervisors read vessels out, and accounts assistants read balances and the month’s GST summary. Each report goes to the person who acts on it, and a role can be limited to its own screens.
What the figures reflect
The figures reflect what has been recorded. Counts must be entered, purchases booked and receipts posted for a report to be complete, and a report that looks thin usually points to a record not yet updated. Extra reports can be added where the data is held. They are scoped during implementation.
Frequently asked questions
Are the reports live?
Yes. They use whatever has been entered so far, so they change with each entry.
Does the GST summary file the return?
No. It prepares the month’s contract figures for the accountant. GST returns stay with the accountant.
Can the cost per plate be hidden from some people?
Yes. Costing and margins are visible only to the people the owner chooses.
Can reports beyond this list be added?
Yes, where the data is held in the system. Any extra report is agreed during scoping.
