Sales and Profit Reports for Grocery Owners

The reports cover daily, weekly and monthly sales, stock movement, expenses and delivery performance. They export for the accountant at filing time, and every figure is read from entries made in the system.

What the sales and profit reports cover

Sales by day, week and month

Totals for each period, taken from the bills raised at the counter and for delivery orders, with nothing typed in a second time.

Stock movement

Items that sell quickly and items that sit. Buying can then follow what the shop actually sells.

Expenses and profit

Rent, salaries, electricity and other recorded costs, set against sales and purchase cost. The month’s profit then comes from real numbers and not from a guess made at the end of it.

Delivery performance

Deliveries by rider. Payment status is shown for each order.

Exports for the accountant

Sales and purchase reports download in a form the accountant can use at filing time, and bring into Tally if the accountant works there. A direct link to Tally is scoped separately. The system prints GST bills at the counter but does not file returns. Filing stays with the shop and its accountant.

Who reads them

Owners can open these reports on a mobile or at a desktop, including when away from the store. A monthly review with the accountant can then be made from the same figures. Counter staff are kept to billing unless the owner allows them to read more than the billing screen, which is a decision for the owner. The reports are only as full as the entries behind them. A missing expense or purchase shows up as a gap in profit that does not reflect the shop’s real position.

What the reports do not do

  • They do not file GST returns on the shop’s behalf.
  • They do not replace the accountant’s books.
  • They read recorded entries and cannot see unrecorded ones.
  • Extra reports are scoped with the shop during implementation.
FAQ

Frequently asked questions

Can the accountant get the sales figures for filing?

Yes. Sales and purchase reports export in a form the accountant can use for the filing. The filing itself is done by your accountant.

Are reports available for a single day?

Yes. Sales are reported by day, by week and by month. Close of day shows the profit for that day.

Do the reports show which rider collected payment?

Yes. Deliveries by rider are reported with payment status, so the cash and UPI collected on the road can be matched to each rider at the end of the day.

Can a report be added beyond the standard ones?

Yes, provided the figure already comes from what the shop enters at billing, receiving or stock count. Extra reports are agreed with the shop during implementation.
