Patient Billing for Hospitals and Clinics

Charges from consultation, procedures, pharmacy and tests build one patient bill. The module also records insurance and TPA claim status and shows what each department collected today.

One bill built during the visit

Each item is recorded where it is done: the consultation in the room, the medicine at the pharmacy, the procedure in the ward. By the time the patient reaches the counter, the bill is already the sum of them.

For an admission

Charges build daily

Bed, procedures, medicines and tests go against the admission as they happen, and not on discharge day.

The discharge bill is already made

Nobody adds up slips late at night while a family waits at the counter.

Advances and part payments

What was paid at admission sits on the bill, so the final figure is a balance.

Insurance details on the bill

The policy, the company or TPA, and where the claim has reached. Open claims can be seen without asking three people.

Claims stay with the insurance desk

The module has no direct line into a TPA portal. Details and documents sit in one place, so whoever does the paperwork does not chase the ward, the pharmacy and the front desk in turn. Submission and follow-up stay with the insurance desk.

FAQ

Frequently asked questions

Does the medical billing system handle GST?

It depends on the item. GST is applied to the items it applies to, and the item list is set up that way during configuration. What applies is a matter for your CA.

Can pharmacy charges go on the same bill?

Yes. Medicines issued against the visit or the admission land on the same bill, and stock comes down as they do.

Can we take UPI at the counter?

Yes, alongside cash and card. The mode is recorded against the receipt, so the day’s collection splits by mode.

What does our accountant get?

Daily collections, bills and receipts in a form that can be brought into Tally. There is no live Tally link as standard, and the format is settled during set-up.

Can a bill be split between the patient and the insurer?

Yes. The amounts, what is claimed and what the insurer finally settles are recorded on the bill. The negotiation in between is done by people.
