Ward and Facility Task Management
The module assigns cleaning, maintenance and ward tasks to named staff, shows what is still open on each shift, and records who did what and when. Handover reads as a single list.
A task belongs to a person and a shift
Handover reads as a list
At shift change the open items sit on one screen: what was raised, what is still open, and what is waiting on somebody outside. A register on the desk shows only what the last person chose to write.
Where the tasks come from
- Equipment servicing falling due this week
- A breakdown reported from a ward
- Cleaning rounds that repeat every morning
- Anything the administrator raises and wants back
This is not a clinical task list
Medication rounds, nursing care plans and orders for a patient belong on the patient record with the clinical team. What is assigned here is the running of the building and its machines. The two are kept apart deliberately.
Frequently asked questions
Can housekeeping staff use the task management software on a phone?
Yes. It works from the browser on a handset, which suits staff who close these tasks away from a desk.
Does a repeating task have to be raised every day?
No. A round that happens each morning is set once and appears against whoever is on duty that morning.
What happens to an open task at shift change?
It stays open and moves to the incoming shift’s list. Nothing closes because a shift ended.
Can we see who is slow to close tasks?
Yes, in part. The report shows what was closed and when, by person. Read it with care, since a ward that raises more tasks is not a ward that works less.
