Views by Role for Interior Design Studios

Interior Design Management System gives each person the part of the project file they act on. Principals, designers, supervisors, accounts and clients read the same project, so the studio and the site work from one record.

One project file, five views

An interior project passes through several hands. The designer prepares drawings and material choices for the client to approve. The supervisor runs the site, and accounts handles the money. The client approves and pays. Nobody keeps a private copy. Each role opens the screen for its own work, and every screen reads from the same project file.

What each role sees

For principal designers and owners

All live projects and where each one stands, with budget against actual, pending approvals and the money owed in both directions across the studio.

For designers

Your projects, the drawings and material choices waiting on the client, and the tasks due this week.

For site supervisors

Today’s tasks for each site, the material expected, and the place to add progress photos and snags from a phone while standing in the flat.

For accounts

The client payment schedule, vendor bills, carpenter advances and what is due this week.

For clients

Progress photos, items waiting for approval and the payment schedule, through the portal.

How a project moves between roles

A lead is recorded with what the family wants, and the designer builds the budget and quotation. Drawings and material choices go to the client on the portal. Purchase orders and tasks go to the supervisor and the vendors. Bills and payments post against the budget, and the project is closed at handover.

What the studio decides

Who holds which role is set with the studio during implementation. One person can hold more than one. Designers, supervisors and accounts are each taught their own screen in training, including adding site photos from a phone. What a client sees on the portal is the studio’s choice.

FAQ

Frequently asked questions

Can the principal see every project at once?

Yes. The owner view lists all live projects with their stage, budget against actual, pending approvals and money owed.

Do clients see the studio’s costs?

Clients see progress photos, pending approvals and the payment schedule. What else appears on the portal is agreed with the studio during implementation.

Can one person hold two roles?

Yes. A principal who also designs can be given both views, and a small studio often works this way.

Is there a view for carpenters and vendors?

Carpenters have no login. The studio records their advances and payments, and the purchase orders raised to vendors, against each project.
