Customer Register for Jewellery Showrooms
The customer register finds a family by phone number and shows purchases, exchanges, scheme membership and preferred karat. Identity papers sit on the customer’s record and open only for staff the owner has permitted.
One record for each family
A showroom serves the same families over many years, and purchases, old-gold exchanges and scheme instalments can end up in different books. The register brings them under one customer, found by phone number at the counter. The salesperson sees the history before the bill is raised.
What the register holds
Who can open what
Billing staff need the name, the phone number and the history. They do not all need the identity papers. The owner decides which logins can see them, and the list of permitted people is agreed during set-up. It follows the permissions set for each login.
What the register does not do
The register records customers. It does not decide what papers a showroom must collect or how long it keeps them. That remains with the owner and the accountant.
- Customers found by phone number
- Purchases and exchanges for each family
- Scheme members with instalments due
- Existing customer lists brought across at set-up
Frequently asked questions
Can a salesperson find a customer by phone number?
Yes. The phone number is the way a family is found at the counter, and the history appears on the record.
Who can see identity papers?
Only the people the owner allows. Counter staff who are not on that list cannot open them.
Does the register link to the savings scheme?
Yes. A member’s scheme appears on the customer record, while the instalments themselves are kept in the scheme book.
Can an existing customer list be loaded?
Yes, from a spreadsheet or the present billing software. The fields to be brought across are agreed with the showroom during implementation.
