Shutter up, rate entered
Gold at 22 and 18 karat and silver per kilo go in once on the rate screen. Every bill raised after that picks it up. The board outside and the software now say the same thing.

A chain is chosen
The salesperson reads the tag. Gross weight, stone weight, net weight and purity are already on it, so the bill works out metal value, making charge, stone value and GST without anybody reaching for a calculator.

Old gold comes in
Her bangles are tested and weighed. Purity, weight and melting loss are entered, the value knocks off the new bill, and she can read the working from where she is standing.

Metal goes to the bench
Two hundred grams are issued to a karigar against an order, with the wastage he is allowed on that design. Pieces come back, weight received and wastage used go against his name, and his balance becomes a number instead of a feeling.

Out for hallmarking, out on approval
Pieces sent for HUID marking and pieces gone home for a family to decide both leave the showcase against a name and a date. Anything out longer than your limit is listed first.

Sales, metal in and out, scheme instalments, exchanges and cash sit on one screen. The night count then reads tag by tag against it.

Daily rate board

Pieces given on approval with the customer, the salesperson who sent them and the date they are due back. Overdue ones come to the top of the list.
Savings schemes and advances
Members, monthly instalments, receipts, missed months and what a maturing member may take in weight or in value. An advance against an order sits with that order.
Orders and repairs
Custom orders and repair jobs with weight in, weight out, the promised date and what the customer was told. A repair piece is never counted as your stock.
Customer register
Families found by phone number, with their purchases, exchanges, scheme and preferred karat. Identity papers you collect for a high-value sale are held against the customer and seen only by the people you allow.
Logins and permissions
Counter staff, the workshop in-charge and the owner each get their own login. A salesperson bills without ever seeing cost, wastage or the karigar account.

Can it bill making charges and wastage the way we quote them?
Yes. Making can be a rate per gram, a flat amount per piece or a share of metal value, and wastage follows your own rule for that design. The rate you entered that morning drives all of it, with hallmarking charges and GST added after.
How does the karigar account work?
Metal is weighed out against an order and weighed back in as finished pieces. Wastage allowed and wastage used sit side by side, and each bench carries a running balance in grams. You can see it without opening a register.
Does this make our jewellery hallmarking compliant?
No. It stores the HUID against the tag, the date the piece went to the centre, the charges and what came back. Testing, marking and whatever the rules ask of your showroom stay with you and the hallmarking centre.
Can our old tags, stock and scheme members be brought across?
Yes. Tags, weights, purity and values arrive from your present billing software or a spreadsheet, along with karigar balances and scheme passbook entries. You check a sample against the physical stock before the first bill goes out.
Will it work with Tally?
Through an export. Sales, purchases, exchanges and scheme receipts download as spreadsheets your auditor posts into Tally against the ledgers he already keeps. If you want the two wired together, that is scoped on its own.
Can I see stock and the karigar balance from my phone?
Yes. Everything opens in a browser, so stock, approvals, scheme dues and the day’s sales come up on a phone. Billing and tag printing work best on the counter machine with the scale and printer attached.
Who owns the stock and customer records?
Your shop does. Tags, customers, karigar accounts and scheme records belong to you. Taking a full copy away, at any point, is spelled out before you sign anything.
What does software like this cost a jewellery showroom?
No price is published. It turns on your counters, your branches and whether the workshop side comes in too. You see your own kind of billing running first, and the cost comes in writing after that.
Can it run our gold savings scheme?
It records members, instalments, receipts, missed months and maturity in weight or value. The terms of the scheme and whatever the law asks of it remain your business and your auditor’s.
We already run jewellery billing software. Should we replace it?
