Weight and melting loss
Gross weight in, the loss you allow on melting, and the net that remains. Your own rule for that loss is set up once and applied every time.
Valued at today’s rate
The rate entered that morning drives the figure. A bill raised in the afternoon does not quietly use yesterday’s number.
Set against the new bill
The exchange value comes off the purchase on the same bill, so she sees one document with both sides of the deal on it.
The working stays visible
Weight, purity, loss and rate are printed with the bill. Six months later, if a relative asks, the answer is on paper.

Does it test the purity of old gold?
No. Testing happens at your counter with your equipment and your judgement. The software records the purity you arrive at, applies your melting loss and values the metal at the day’s rate.
Can we set different melting loss for different items?
Yes. Your rules are set up first, and a salesperson can be allowed or not allowed to change them on a bill. Any change that is made stays on the record with a name.
Can old gold be taken in without a sale?
Yes. A straight purchase of metal is recorded as its own entry with the customer against it, and the identity papers you collect sit on that customer record.
