GullySystem
Retail and distribution · Software for jewellers

Our stock is counted by weight, but our software only understands pieces and prices.

Jewellers work in grams, purity and making charges, with old-gold exchange, gold savings schemes, karigar issues and hallmarking all running beside the counter bill. GullySystem builds or adapts software that tracks every piece by tag and weight, from karigar to counter, and the free technology audit starts with how your stock is counted today.

At a glance

A jewellery shop’s real risk is not a slow sale. It is a few grams that go missing between the karigar, the hallmarking centre and the showcase.

We build software that follows metal by weight and pieces by tag, and fits around the billing package you may already have.

How the work runs today

Each day starts with the rate: gold per gram for 22 and 18 karat, silver, and the board updated. A customer picks a chain, the counter weighs it, reads the tag for gross weight, stone weight and making charge, and bills with GST. If they bring old gold, it is tested for purity, weighed, melting loss deducted and adjusted against the bill.

Behind the counter, gold is issued to karigars by weight for new orders and received back as finished pieces with wastage noted in a register. Pieces go for HUID hallmarking and return with a delivery note.

Customers pay monthly instalments into a gold savings scheme, recorded in a passbook. The night-time stock count compares tags and weights against the book, and differences are hunted by hand.

Where it breaks

What goes wrong for jewellers without a proper system.

The karigar register never balances

Gold issued, pieces received and wastage allowed are in a notebook, so a gram here and there is never explained.

Old-gold exchange is worked out on a calculator

Purity, weight and deduction are figured by hand at the counter, and the customer watches every step.

Scheme instalments are hard to trace

A customer says they paid eleven months and the passbook and the ledger disagree.

Tag stock and the book don’t match

A piece sent for hallmarking or approval to a customer’s home is missing from the count and nobody noted it.

What the software does

What we would build for jewellers.

Named the way your team already talks about the work. We start with whichever part the audit shows is costing you most.

Tag-wise stock by weight

Each piece with tag number, gross weight, stone weight, net weight, purity and HUID, and where it is right now.

Daily rate and counter billing

Enter the day’s rate once, and bills calculate metal value, making charge, stone value and GST from the tag.

Old-gold exchange

Record purity, weight and deduction, and adjust the value against the new purchase on the same bill.

Karigar issue and receipt

Metal issued by weight, pieces received, wastage allowed and balance per karigar at any moment.

Gold savings scheme ledger

Member-wise instalments, missed months and maturity value, with SMS or WhatsApp reminders.

Hallmarking and approval tracking

Pieces sent out for HUID or on approval, with dates and who has them.

How it works

How the work runs from Bengaluru for your city.

  1. 01

    The audit, by call

A screen-share and a look at the sheets, Tally reports and WhatsApp groups your team uses. No travel needed.

  2. 02

    A written proposal

Scope, what we build first and the cost, agreed in writing before anything starts.

  3. 03

    Build in short rounds

Working screens shared every few weeks. Your team tests them from your own office.

  4. 04

Go-live, in person when it helps

For data migration and training we can come to your city. Travel is agreed in advance.

  5. 05

    Support online

Fixes, changes and hosting handled remotely by the same team that built it.

Common questions

Questions jewellers ask before they call.

Can it connect to our weighing scale and tag printer?

In most cases yes. Common electronic scales and barcode or RFID tag printers can be read by the software.

Will Tally still hold our accounts?

Yes. Sales, purchases and scheme receipts can post to Tally, so your auditor sees no change.

Should we replace our jewellery billing software?

Not if it bills well and your staff trust it. Often the better step is to add what it lacks, such as karigar tracking or a scheme ledger, and connect it to what you have.

Is our stock data safe?

We treat it as sensitive. Access is set by role, so a counter salesperson does not see the karigar ledger, and every change to a tag’s weight is logged. The audit also checks the security of what you run today.

What happens in the free technology audit?

We look at the software, spreadsheets and WhatsApp groups your business runs on today and write down what works, what slows your team down and what is missing. A demo login, a screen-share or a few screenshots are enough to start. You get a report ordered by priority, and there is no obligation to hire us afterwards.

How much will the software cost?

We don’t publish a price, because it depends on what the system has to do. The audit settles the scope, and the cost goes into a written proposal before any work starts.
