The evening rush is four deep, and the khata book is your only record of credit.
A kirana or grocery store bills fast at the counter, gives regulars credit on a khata page, takes orders on WhatsApp and sends them out on a scooter. GullySystem sets up its grocery management system around your items, prices and the way you give credit, so billing, stock, khata and home delivery share one record. It starts with a free technology audit.
A kirana shop lives on two things the bill never shows: the regulars who settle at month end, and the stock that must be on the shelf.
Our grocery management system covers both, and you can begin with counter billing alone. The audit looks at your counter, your khata book and your supplier bills first.
The counter bills on a calculator or a basic billing program, and loose items are weighed by hand. Regulars ask for it to go on the khata, and a page gets a date and a figure.
Orders arrive on WhatsApp as a list, a voice note or a photo of a handwritten chit. The delivery boy leaves with five bags, some cash and a few UPI screenshots.
Stock is judged by looking at the shelf. The distributor’s bill goes on a hook behind the counter, and the payment is settled next visit against a figure both sides remember differently.
What goes wrong for kirana and grocery stores without a proper system.
The khata page is the only copy
A smudged or missing page means you write the money off, or ask a customer of ten years what he bought in March.
Orders on WhatsApp are packed from memory
The curd is missed from a list of fourteen items, and the boy makes a second trip after dinner for one packet.
Fast movers finish on a Sunday
Atta and oil run out on your busiest day, while slow packets sit on the top shelf with your money inside them.
The rider’s bag never settles cleanly
Some orders come back paid in cash and some by UPI to a personal number, so closing the count takes a round of calls.
What we would build for kirana and grocery stores.
Named the way your team already talks about the work. We start with whichever part the audit shows is costing you most.
Counter billing with barcode and GST
Quick billing for the rush hour, with scanning, GST bills and cash, UPI, card or credit taken on the same screen.
Customer khata
Credit given and payments received against each customer, so what a regular owes today is on the screen.
Stock and low-stock alerts
Stock moves with every sale and purchase, and items running low are flagged before the shelf is bare.
Supplier purchases and dues
Each distributor’s bills recorded against the supplier, so stock goes up and what you owe him is a number.
Phone and WhatsApp orders
Orders from calls, WhatsApp and your own ordering page join the same list as counter sales, then get packed and sent.
Delivery rider app
Riders see their orders on an ordinary Android phone, update status on the way, and confirm payment at the door.
Ready products that fit kirana and grocery stores.
Each one is adapted to how your business works before it goes live, and anything your trade needs that it lacks is added then. You are not paying to build the basics again.

Can we start with billing and add the rest later?
Yes. Most shops begin with counter billing, barcodes and khata, then switch on stock, purchases and delivery once the counter staff are used to it.
Will it work with Tally?
Yes, through an export. Sales and purchase reports download in a form your accountant posts in Tally, and a direct link is scoped only if he wants one.
Does it handle items sold loose by weight?
Yes. Rice, dal and oil sold loose are billed by weight at your rate, alongside packed goods that are scanned. Both are set up in your item list first.
We have one counter and no delivery. Is this too much?
It may be. If all you need is a GST bill, a simple billing app costs less and does the job. This fits shops carrying credit, stock and home orders together.
What happens in the free technology audit?
We look at the software, spreadsheets and WhatsApp groups your business runs on today and write down what works, what slows your team down and what is missing. A demo login, a screen-share or a few screenshots are enough to start. You get a report ordered by priority, and there is no obligation to hire us afterwards.
How much will the software cost?
We don’t publish a price, because it depends on what the system has to do. The audit settles the scope, and the cost goes into a written proposal before any work starts.
