SaaS Product Development

Software you sell to other businesses as a subscription, rather than software your own team uses internally. GullySystem builds the product, the billing and onboarding around it, and the operator console you use to run it.

Overview

SaaS product development covers building software as the business itself — a subscription product sold to other companies, not an internal tool. This most often starts one of two ways: an operational system built for your own use that others in your trade keep asking to buy, or a new idea aimed directly at a market from the start.

What a SaaS Build Needs Beyond a Regular Application

Tenant Separation

Each customer's data kept apart and secure, detailed further on our multi-tenant platforms page.

Plans and Billing

Subscription tiers, feature limits, trials and recurring payments, detailed further on our subscription platforms page.

Self-Service Onboarding

A new customer can sign up, configure their account and start using the product without you setting it up manually for them.

An Operator Console

A back office for you to view accounts, handle support, monitor usage and manage billing across every customer on the platform.

From Internal Tool to Sellable Product

If you already run the system for your own business, the underlying logic is often reusable, but it needs rework before it can be sold: removing anything hard-coded to your business, adding tenant isolation, building sign-up and billing, and hardening it for customers you do not directly manage. We assess what carries over and what needs rebuilding before quoting.

Validating the Idea First

Where the product is new and unproven, we typically recommend starting with a focused MVP, covered separately, to put it in front of real prospective customers before committing to the full build. A SaaS product is a longer-running investment than a single internal tool, and it is worth confirming demand before the platform is built out in full.

FAQ

Frequently asked questions

We already have an internal tool — can it become a SaaS product?

Often, yes. The core workflow logic frequently carries over, but the software needs tenant separation, self-service sign-up, billing and an operator console added before it can be sold to other businesses. We review the existing system and tell you what can be reused and what has to be rebuilt.

Should we validate the idea before building the full platform?

For a new, unproven product, yes. A focused MVP or proof of concept, covered on its own page, puts the core idea in front of real prospective customers at a fraction of the cost of the full platform, before you commit to tenant architecture, billing and the operator console.

What drives the cost of a SaaS build?

The complexity of the core product itself, how tenant data is separated, how many subscription plans and billing rules exist, how much self-service onboarding is needed, and how detailed the operator console has to be.

What decides how long the platform build takes?

Whether an existing internal tool is being adapted or the product is being built from scratch, how many plan tiers and billing scenarios need to be supported, and how much of the sign-up and onboarding flow must be fully self-service from day one.

How is a SaaS product priced and billed to our customers?

We integrate a payment gateway that supports recurring billing, and build the plan logic, trial handling and usage limits around it. Deciding the actual price points and packaging for your market is a business decision we can advise on but that stays yours to make.

Who owns the platform once it is built?

You do. The source code, database and infrastructure setup belong to you, and you are free to bring in another team to extend it, though we generally continue as the engineering partner for the product roadmap.

What do you need from us to get started?

A clear picture of who the paying customer is and what they are paying for, any existing internal version of the system, and a decision-maker who can define plan tiers and pricing structure early, since that shapes the data model.
