Web and Mobile Performance Audits

A measured, written assessment of how fast your website or app is on real devices and connections, for teams who need evidence before spending on a fix. GullySystem runs the audit and hands over the findings.

Why an Audit Comes Before a Fix

Before money is spent changing anything, an audit answers a narrower question: exactly how slow is the site or app today, on which pages, for which visitors, and by how much. That written baseline is what a fix is later measured against, and it is often what a manager needs to justify the spend to someone else.

What Gets Tested

Real Devices, Not a Developer's Laptop

Mid-range Android phones and throttled connections are used alongside a fast office network, because those are the two very different experiences your visitors actually have.

Every Major Page Type

Home page, listing or search page, product or detail page, and the page where a visitor is asked to pay or sign up are each measured on their own, since they usually fail for different reasons.

Load Time and Responsiveness

How long the page takes to become usable, and separately, how long it takes to react once a visitor taps or types, are recorded as two different numbers.

App Store and In-App Behaviour

Cold start time, screen transition delay and battery or data drain are checked for a mobile app in addition to the metrics that apply to a website.

What You Receive

  • A page-by-page score with the specific measurement behind each one
  • Screenshots and timing waterfalls showing where each page spends its time
  • A ranked list of causes, from the one costing the most time to the smallest
  • A plain-language summary a non-technical stakeholder can read on its own
  • A recommendation on whether the fix is small tuning or a larger piece of work

Web Audit or Mobile Audit — What Changes

A website audit is largely about the browser: page weight, script execution and how quickly the layout settles. A mobile app audit adds device-specific concerns — startup time, memory use, and how the app behaves when the network drops mid-session — so the two are scoped and reported separately even when they cover the same product.

When to Commission One

Before a Redesign or Rebuild

So the new version has a measured target to beat instead of a vague sense that it should feel faster.

Before a Marketing Spend

So traffic paid for is not lost on a slow landing page or checkout before it converts.

After Complaints Without a Clear Cause

When users say the app or site feels slow but nobody inside the company can point to why.

As a Second Opinion

When a vendor claims a system is as fast as it can be, and you want an independent measurement before accepting that.

FAQ

Frequently asked questions

When is an audit the right step, rather than going straight to a fix?

When you need evidence before committing budget, or a second opinion on a system someone else built. If the cause is already obvious and agreed and you simply want it fixed, you can skip straight to that — an audit does not include fixing what it finds, only measuring and explaining it.

What determines the cost of an audit?

Mainly how many distinct page types or app screens are in scope, and whether both web and mobile versions need testing. A single storefront costs less to assess than a product spread across a website, an Android app and an iOS app built differently.

What decides how long an audit takes?

The same factors that drive cost — number of page types or screens in scope, and whether web and mobile both need testing — plus how much existing monitoring data is already available to draw on rather than collect from scratch.

Do you need access to our source code to run an audit?

Not always. Much of an audit can be run from the outside, on the live site or a public build of the app. Deeper causes — why a particular query or screen is slow — are easier to explain with read access to the code and database, so we will ask for it where it speeds up the diagnosis.

Who owns the audit report?

You do. It is written to be handed to whichever team or vendor does the fixing, including one that is not us, without needing further explanation from our side.

What do you need from us before starting?

The URLs or app builds to test, the specific complaints if any exist already, and access to analytics or existing monitoring if you have it, since real traffic patterns help us choose which pages and devices matter most.

How is a mobile app audit different from testing our website?

A website audit focuses on what a browser downloads and renders. A mobile app audit adds device-level checks — how quickly the app starts, how it behaves on a weak or dropped connection, and how much memory or battery it consumes — which a browser-only test cannot see.
