Why the signed copy needs a photo
The signed challan is meant to return to the office. It can stay in a pocket, go home with the driver or not come back at all. Meanwhile the ledger and the contractor’s account can disagree about whether a load arrived.

Frequently asked questions
Will drivers manage it?
It depends on the driver. The screen is a trip, a site name and a camera, with nothing to type. If a driver cannot manage it, the yard supervisor closes the challan from the office.
Does it track the lorry on a map?
No. There is no vehicle tracking here. What it provides is proof that the material reached the site, which is useful when a load is disputed months later.
What if the site has no network?
It depends on the site. Signal cannot be promised, and the routes that lorries run are tested during set-up. At a site with none, the yard supervisor closes the challan when the paper copy comes in.
