Marked at muster
Men come through the gate in ones and twos. The supervisor marks them on his phone as they arrive, category by category: mason, helper, bar bender, carpenter. Your own labour and each contractor’s crew stay separate, because different people pay them.
What the day produces
A head count per site
Thirty-four on site, split by contractor and by category. Your project manager sees it without ringing anybody.
Rates by category
Each category carries its rate, so the week’s wage sheet builds from the days already marked rather than from a fresh sheet on Saturday.
Advances deducted
A worker who took two thousand on Tuesday sees it come off the sheet. It is not held in the supervisor’s head until the week ends.
Contractor days, counted apart
How many of the mason contractor’s men stood on your site this week. That figure matters when his bill arrives.

Labour cost is the figure builders argue about at the end, and the argument is usually about days.

Frequently asked questions
Does it need biometric machines at the gate?
No. Your supervisor marks it in his phone browser, which is what actually works on a site with no shelter and no power point. If you already run a biometric device, keep it and enter the day’s summary here.
Do we still pay in cash?
Yes, if that is how your site runs. The sheet says what each man is owed for the week after advances. How it reaches him does not change, and the sheet is what he signs against.
What about contractor labour we do not pay directly?
Marking them is still worth the minute, because it tells you how many men were on site the day the slab was poured. Their money goes through the contractor’s bill, not the wage sheet.
