A progressive web app, covered separately, suits cases needing an installable, app-like experience with lighter offline needs and easier updates across many devices. We recommend based on what the machine actually has to do, not by default.

Is a desktop application still the right choice, or should this be a web application?
Choose desktop when the connection cannot be trusted, when specialised hardware such as a scale or a fiscal printer is involved, or when the terminal must work fully standalone. If the machine has a stable connection and no special hardware, a web application is usually simpler to maintain.
What decides the cost of a desktop application?
How much offline functionality is needed, how many pieces of hardware it must talk to, whether it runs on Windows only or also Mac, and how the sync logic between local and central data is designed.
What decides the timeline?
The complexity of the offline logic and conflict handling during sync, the number of hardware integrations, and how many counters or sites the software needs to be tested against before rollout.
Can it connect to our central system and accounting software?
Yes. Transactions captured locally are synced to your central database and can push entries into accounting software such as Tally through an API, once a connection is available.
What happens if two counters make conflicting entries while offline?
We design the sync logic to flag conflicts such as duplicate invoice numbers or stock mismatches for review rather than silently overwriting one side, and the rules are agreed with you before development.
Who owns the software and the installer?
You do. The source code, installer package and update mechanism are handed over, so you are not locked into us for future installations or updates.
