Custom software · Diagnostic centres and laboratories

Build a diagnostic system around your actual lab workflow.

A diagnostic centre moves a lot of small things through a day. Registration, referrals, sample collection, barcodes, processing, result entry, verification, report generation, home collection, billing, referral accounts, branches.

When those live in disconnected software, spreadsheets, phone calls and memory, the errors are not dramatic. They are a sample recollected, a report delayed, a doctor who stops referring.

GullySystem builds diagnostic and laboratory software designed around the way your organisation works, from the laboratory information system itself to home collection, referral portals and multi-branch reporting.

Who this is for

Diagnostic businesses we can build for.

One collection centre sending samples out, or fifteen branches feeding a central laboratory. The sample volume decides the shape of it, not the signboard. If you run a hospital with a laboratory inside it, the hospitals and clinics page covers the wider system.

  • Diagnostic centres
  • Pathology laboratories
  • Clinical laboratories
  • Medical laboratories
  • Blood testing laboratories
  • Imaging centres
  • Radiology centres
  • Health check-up centres
  • Preventive healthcare centres
  • Hospital laboratories
  • Independent laboratories
  • Diagnostic chains running branches under one registration
  • Collection centres
  • Diagnostic brands franchising collection centres to partners
  • Home sample collection companies
  • Corporate health screening providers
  • Specialised testing laboratories
What can be built

The modules, and what each one covers.

Nothing here is a fixed package. Each module is built, left out or changed to match how your organisation already works.

  3. Received
  4. Processing
  5. Completed
  6. Verified
  7. Reported

Where every sample is

Searchable by patient, sample ID, barcode, test, branch, collection centre, date or referring doctor.

  • Awaiting collection
  • Collected
  • In transit
  • Received

  • Processing
  • Pending
  • Under verification
  • Report ready

Rejected samples

Recorded with a reason, so recollection and the call to the patient both happen.

  • Insufficient quantity
  • Wrong container
  • Haemolysed sample
  • Leakage
  • Incorrect labelling
  • Delayed transport
  • Contamination

Department workflows

Each department can have its own worklists, users, processes, instruments, verification rules and report formats.

  4. Report release

Critical results

When a value falls into a range you have defined as critical, the system can raise it rather than wait for someone to notice.

  • Doctors
  • Pathologists
  • Lab managers
  • Clinical teams

Reports

  • Referring doctor
  • Test details
  • Result values and units
  • Reference ranges

  • Lab branding
  • PDF generation

Patient report portal

  • View completed reports
  • Download reports
  • Historical reports
  • Invoices
  • Upcoming collections
  • Profile
  • Notifications

Report delivery

Once a report is approved, the notification can go out on its own.

  • Report-ready notification
  • Secure report link
  • Home collection confirmation
  • Appointment reminder
  • Payment receipt
  • Follow-up reminder

A report link can go out on WhatsApp. The result itself stays behind the link, because the provider approves the template and a value in a message is a patient record leaving your control.

Referral doctor portal

For many diagnostic businesses the referring doctor is the customer, and a portal treats them like one.

  • Refer patients
  • Create test requests
  • View patient status
  • Access and download reports
  • Referral history
  • Track patients
  • Account statements
  • Manage profile

What each doctor can see is limited to his own referrals, not left open.

Referral management

  • Doctor profile
  • Clinic or hospital
  • Specialty
  • Contact information
  • Referral history
  • Patient and test referrals
  • Business generated
  • Branch
  • Relationship manager
  • Follow-up history

Referral accounts

Where a diagnostic business maintains commercial arrangements with referrers, the records for those arrangements can be kept in the system.

  • Referral source
  • Test value
  • Applicable commercial terms
  • Payment status
  • Statement generation

Referral arrangements in healthcare are governed by law and by professional regulation. What this module records, and whether it is built at all, is your organisation’s decision on its own legal advice. We build to that decision and take no view on it.

  2. Slot
  3. Address

  • Who approved the report
  • When the report was released
  • Changes to patient data
  • Billing changes
  • Access history

  5. Sample collection
  6. Barcode
  7. Processing
  8. Result entry

Built in phases

You do not have to replace everything at once.

Each phase is usable on its own, so the system earns its place before the next part is built.

  1. 1

    The core lab

Registration, test catalogue, billing, sample tracking and reports. The system is useful the day this much works.

  2. 2

    Doctors and patients

The referral doctor portal, home collection and the patient portal, which is where the delivery workload drops.

  3. 3

    Stock and equipment

Consumables, procurement, equipment records and corporate health check-up management.

  4. 4

    CRM and analytics

Business development, dashboards, automation and any instrument integrations worth doing.

How we work

How a build actually runs.

  1. 01

    Understand

We watch how samples, patients and reports actually move through your lab today.

  2. 02

    Map

Patients, samples, departments, users, branches, approvals and the handover points between them.

  3. 03

    Design

Workflows, screens, permissions and integrations, drawn around that map.

  4. 04

    Build

The platform and its modules, in the order that gets the lab working soonest.

  5. 05

    Test

Your technicians and pathologists run real samples through it before anything goes live.

  6. 06

    Deploy

Go-live happens desk by desk, with the phlebotomists and the reporting counter shown their own screens first.

  7. 07

    Improve

Integrations, automation and analytics as the operation grows.

Common questions

Questions owners ask before starting.

What is a laboratory information system?

It is the software a laboratory runs on: patients, tests, samples, results, verification, reports and the workflows that connect them. Everything else in a diagnostic business hangs off it.

Can you build a custom LIS?

Yes. The workflows, departments, users, report formats and integrations are designed around your laboratory rather than configured inside somebody else’s product.

Can we track samples using barcodes?

Yes. Barcode generation and scanning can run from collection through to reporting, which is usually the single biggest reduction in mix-ups.

Can patients download reports online?

Yes. A patient logs in and sees his own reports, and only once they are approved. Nothing is visible before that.

Can reports be sent on WhatsApp?

A notification or a secure link can be sent through approved WhatsApp providers. What the message can contain is set by the provider’s template rules, not by us.

Can referring doctors access reports?

Yes. A referral portal can give each doctor the patients and reports they are authorised to see, and nothing else.

Can the software manage home collection?

Yes. Requests, time slots, phlebotomist assignment, collection status, payment and handover to the lab can all be tracked, including from the collector’s phone.

Can the system support multiple branches?

Yes. Laboratories, branches and collection centres run on one platform with permissions restricted by location.

Can our analysers be integrated?

Sometimes. It depends on the interface and protocol the manufacturer provides, and it varies by instrument. We check each one before committing to it rather than assuming.

Can we manage corporate health check-ups?

Yes. Corporate clients, employee lists, packages, camps, testing, reporting and contract billing can be handled as their own workflow.

Is there a ready product we should look at first?

There is no ready laboratory product on our shelf. Our Hospital/Clinic Management System covers a clinic with a small lab attached, and a standalone diagnostic business is a build rather than a configuration.

Can we start with only the lab part?

Yes, and most labs should. Start with registration, tests, billing, samples and reports, then add referral management, home collection and the rest as they are needed.

Can this be built as a product we sell to other labs?

Yes, and it has to be planned that way from the first design. Every laboratory names its test panels differently, so a product for many labs keeps the test master separate for each one.

Your trade

How we work with this trade.

Already built

Software we already run for this work.

If one of these fits, it is cheaper and faster than building from scratch. We will say so.

Build a diagnostic platform that matches your business.

A diagnostic organisation is more than a test-reporting operation. It is patients, doctors, collection centres, samples, phlebotomists, laboratories, corporate clients and the people who bring the business in.

Start with one patient and one sample, and tell us every place that record gets written down today. Wherever a sample can go missing between the collection centre and the analyser, that is the gap to close.

Tell us how you work

Tell us how your diagnostic centres and laboratories runs today.

We will tell you what can be digitised, what can be connected, what is worth automating, and what you should leave alone.
