Commission Settled by Whoever Argues Best
The executive keeps his own sheet. Accounts keeps another. On the seventh of every month the two are compared in the GM’s room, loudly, and the answer depends on who is more certain.
The invoice comes from the deal
When a deal closes, the invoice is raised from what was actually agreed on it. Not retyped from a booking form, not rebuilt from a WhatsApp message. Whatever is still owed stays tracked against that invoice until it is collected.
Money in, and who earned it
Receipts
Booking amounts, down payments, and final settlements recorded against the deal as they come in.
Balances
What is outstanding on booked and delivered vehicles, as one list rather than a question asked at month end.
Commission on your rules
Payout worked out from payment received, using the rules your dealership set up before go-live.
The monthly sheet
Commission by executive, produced from records both sides can open. The argument becomes a reading.
What accounts stops reconstructing
- Which deliveries went out with money still owed
- Receipts that were written but never posted anywhere
- Commission on a deal that was later part-refunded
- Collections against invoices raised last month
Your books stay in Tally
This is not an accounting package and does not pretend to be one. Invoices and receipts export in a file your accountant posts in Tally, and GST treatment, ledgers, and returns stay his work. What lives here is the dealership view: who owes what, and who earned what.
Frequently asked questions
Can commission rules differ by model?
Yes. Payout rules are set up the way your dealership actually pays, including differences by model or by scheme, and they are changed when you change them.
What happens when a booking is cancelled?
The refund is recorded against the deal and the commission worked out for that month reflects it. That is precisely the case that goes wrong on a spreadsheet.
Can customers pay online?
A payment link can go out with the invoice through a UPI or payment gateway, and the receipt lands against the deal. Cash and cheque are entered by accounts as usual.
