Packages and discounts
One visit off her package instead of a charge, or the discount you agreed, applied as a line rather than a mental adjustment.
How she paid
Cash, UPI or card, recorded on the bill. Split between two of them if that is what she does.
GST on the invoice, properly
Services and retail products are billed with GST on them, in a format your accountant recognises. It matters more than owners expect, usually the first time a corporate client asks for an invoice she can claim.
Package money is not this month’s money
Six massages paid for in March and used by August are six visits of work you still owe. The system counts the visits down so you know what is outstanding, but nothing here tells you how to treat that money in your books. Ask your accountant. Salons that spend package money as income have a thin month every August.
Nothing goes into Tally by itself
Sales, package and commission figures stay here, and your accountant works from the reports. A direct link to Tally is scoped and quoted at set-up if you want one, and plenty of single-branch salons never bother.
Frequently asked questions
Can two people pay one bill?
Yes. A bill can be settled part in cash and part by card or UPI, which is how mother-and-daughter visits usually end.
Can we give a discount at the counter?
Yes, where you allow the desk to. Many owners keep discounts above a certain size to the manager, because that is where margin quietly goes.
Does the therapist’s commission come off this bill?
It comes off the service on it. The bill records who did the work, and the month’s commission is worked out from those completed services.
