Which Services Actually Sold Last Month
The takings arrive on WhatsApp at ten at night, a figure with no story attached. Whether it came from twenty threading appointments or four body massages, and which therapist earned it, nobody can say until somebody sits with the bill book.
The figures an owner asks for
Sales by service
What sold, at what value, in which branch. The menu items nobody books are as useful to know as the ones that do.
Therapist by therapist
Who is busy and who is not, which is also the conversation you need before anybody’s increment.
Commission payable
Worked out from completed services, per therapist, before the month ends rather than after the argument starts.
Package and membership balances
Visits outstanding, and renewals due. Money already taken, work still owed.
The two lists that quietly make money
Clients who have not visited in two months, and stock that is near expiry or due to reorder. Neither is dramatic. Both are where a salon leaks, one client and one bottle at a time.
Two branches, read apart
Add them together and a weak branch hides inside a strong one for a year. Read separately, by service and by therapist, it takes about six weeks to see which one is carrying the other.
It counts, it does not explain
A report can tell you that facials fell in August. It cannot tell you the therapist who did them went on leave, or that the salon across the road opened with an offer. You know those things. The numbers only tell you where to look.
Frequently asked questions
Can the owner see this from home?
Yes, on a phone. Most owners check the day’s takings and the next day’s bookings, and that is about all anybody looks at daily.
Can a branch manager see only her branch?
Yes. Logins are limited to what you allow, and commission across branches is usually kept to the owner.
Can we export to Excel?
Yes. Sales, commission and package reports download, which is what your accountant asks for when April comes round.
How often do the figures update?
As they happen. A bill made at four is in the day’s number at four, not after some nightly run.
