Assigned, then completed
The office puts a priest on a booking and marks it assigned. He opens the day’s list and sees each seva with the devotee’s gothra, nakshatra and sankalpa spelt out, and it is marked completed afterwards. On a Friday with eighty six bookings that trail is the only way anyone can answer what was performed and what was not.
Who goes on what is still your call
The software holds availability and specialisation, and on a brahmotsavam morning it does not decide the roster. Your office knows which priest handles a particular family, who is already committed at the flag post, and who is fasting. The record is there to inform that, not to replace it.
Frequently asked questions
Can a priest see only his own sevas?
Yes. A priest logs in to the sevas assigned to him for the day, with the devotee details each one needs. Donations and totals are not his screen.
Can one booking have more than one priest?
A booking carries the priest assigned to it. For a homa that needs several people, temples usually assign the one responsible and work the rest out in the office.
Do the priests need their own phones for this?
Not necessarily. One shared tablet in the office opens the same roster. Many temples print the day list and pin it up instead.
