Views by Role in a Bakery
A bakery has four working groups, and each opens the list it acts on. Owners, head bakers, counter staff and the store team read from the same orders, plan and stock.
One order list behind four views
Orders, the bake plan, the ingredient store and the till are often kept in separate places. Here counter sales, custom cakes and standing wholesale orders go into one list. From that list the next day’s production plan is built and ingredients are checked against it. The counter bills from the same items.
What each role sees
Through the day
A cake order is booked at the counter with flavour, weight, message and pickup time. The head baker opens one list of what to bake and how much. The store team sees which ingredients fall short, and a purchase order can go to the supplier the same evening. At closing the counter enters unsold stock and wastage. Those figures sit beside the day’s sales.
What the client decides
- Which staff may change prices or cancel a bill
- Who confirms a custom cake order and its advance
- Which outlets each owner or manager can see
- Who completes the closing count at each counter
Frequently asked questions
Can the owner see the day from home?
Yes. It opens in a browser, so the day’s sales, cake orders and closing count can be read from a phone.
Does the head baker need to see prices?
Not unless the bakery decides so. The head baker works from the plan and the batch log. What each role sees is set at implementation.
Can one person hold two roles?
Yes. In a small bakery the owner may also run the counter. Access can be combined on one login.
How are roles set for several outlets?
Each counter or outlet has its own billing and stock. Which people see more than one outlet is agreed during setup.
