What This Ticket Owes This Month, Worked Out Already
A subscriber rings on the third of the month and asks what he owes. The number is on the screen, with the dividend already taken off, and it is the same number your agent is carrying.
Three figures on every due
The full subscription
What a seat in this group pays each month, before anything is adjusted.
The dividend deducted
This instalment’s share of the last auction, taken off automatically for every ticket in the group.
The net payable
What the subscriber actually hands over. This is the figure on the reminder, on the agent’s list and in the ledger.
Its state
Unpaid, partly paid or paid. Somebody who brought half the money is not filed with somebody who brought none.
The first week of the month
Dues for the next instalment are raised the moment the auction closes, so the month never starts with a blank register. Your office manager can filter unpaid and part paid dues by group, and the defaulters report lists every ticket past its due date with the amount and the mobile number. That list works when she is on leave, which is the whole point of writing it down.
Reminders are not built in
There is no WhatsApp or SMS due reminder today, and we would rather say so than let you find out in month two. Your staff work from the defaulters list and the phone numbers on it. If reminders matter enough to pay for, they are scoped in the proposal before anything is promised.
Frequently asked questions
Why does every ticket owe a different amount each month?
Because the dividend changes with each auction, and the dividend is deducted from the subscription. The software raises the net figure for every ticket, so the agent is never carrying last month’s number.
Can a subscriber pay part of a due?
Yes. The due is marked partly paid and the balance stays open on that ticket. Whoever goes next sees a short payment rather than a clean miss.
Can we see one group’s whole month at once?
Yes, the monthly ledger puts every ticket in the group side by side, with what was payable, what came in and what is still outstanding.
