The Phone Calls That Stop Coming
The first week of every month, the office phone rings with one question. A subscriber who can open his own dues on his phone does not need to ask it.
What a subscriber sees
This month’s due
The net payable on his ticket, with the dividend already taken off. The same figure your agent is carrying.
What he has paid
Past payments on the ticket with their receipt numbers, so a lost slip is not a lost argument.
His KYC status
Whether his documents are verified, pending or rejected, and what was wrong with the rejected one.
Nothing else
He sees his own tickets. Other subscribers, other groups and your commission are not his business.
Paying online
There is a pay button, and it starts working once your own payment gateway account is connected during set-up. That connection is yours: your account, your settlement, your charges. Until it is done, the button is not doing anything for anybody, which is why it is one of the first things we sort out.
It is a browser, not an app store
The portal opens in the phone’s browser. There is no separate app to download from the Play Store, which suits subscribers who will not install another icon for a twenty five month commitment. A shortcut on the home screen is close enough for most of them.
What the office still does
- Uploading and verifying KYC documents, which stays a counter job
- Recording collections taken in cash, which never reach the portal at all
- Answering the subscriber who has forgotten his login and wants a number over the phone
- Checking that the mobile number on the member record is the one he actually carries
Frequently asked questions
Can subscribers pay online through the portal?
Yes, once your payment gateway account is connected at set-up. The payment comes in with its reference, and the ticket’s due updates from the same entry.
Will subscribers stop calling the office?
The ones who use it will. Plenty of older subscribers still prefer to ring, and the portal does not take that away from them. It thins the queue rather than ending it.
Does the portal show dues across all their groups?
It shows their tickets, and a subscriber holding tickets in three groups sees all three with their own dues and payments.
