Art Supplies E-commerce & Studio Ordering Software

An art supplies store is set up with shade and grade data, open stock and sets, made-to-size items and rules for restricted goods. Quote requests for colleges and studios are added, and the whole is fitted to each seller’s range, carriers and way of working.

Product status

Configured implementation on a commerce platform chosen in discovery

The store and its order flows are assembled around your catalogue and shipping rules, using whichever platform discovery recommends. No GullySystem product is named, and the written proposal fixes the scope.

There is no published price, free trial or live demo for this solution. Scope and cost are settled in a written proposal after discovery.

Purpose and users

The point is to describe an art product the way a buyer reasons about it. Shade, grade, size and fibre become fields, and sets draw on the same stock as singles.

It does not mix paints, cut paper or supply materials. It organises the catalogue, the order, the shipping rules and the quote.

  • Students and professional artists
  • Colleges and studios

  • Owners and approvers
Modules

What is in the system.

Attribute catalogue

Medium, grade, shade code, weight, size and fibre as searchable fields.

Open stock and sets

Singles and sets drawing on one count.

Flags and routing limits for solvents, sprays and sharp items.

Made-to-size ordering

Dimensions and options for canvases and cut paper, passed to staff.

Workflows

How the work runs through it.

Search to checkout

A buyer finds a shade or a paper by specification, adds it with others and checks out with shipping that respects the rules.

Custom size order

A buyer enters dimensions, sees a price and the order reaches staff as a job sheet.

Studio quote

A college sends a list, receives a quote and orders against it.

Catalogue and product data

What each product record holds.

Specification fields

The attributes buyers filter on, held for every item.

Swatches and photographs

Painted swatches and surface close-ups tied to each variant.

Sets and bundles

Starter kits and themed sets defined from their parts.

Pricing and order rules

How prices and orders are set.

Grade pricing

Different prices for student and artist grades of the same shade.

Restricted routes

Items flagged for special carriage are blocked on routes that cannot take them.

Careful packing

Packing steps for fragile, long and sharp items appear on the pick list.

Payments, returns and refunds

Taking money and giving it back.

Payments

Online payment at checkout, and invoices for approved colleges.

Returns

A return follows your rule for opened items, with damaged goods photographed.

Refunds

Made against the original payment and noted with the reason.

Admin controls and reporting

What the team can see and change.

Roles

Catalogue, desk, packing and owner have separate views.

Approvals

Price breaks for institutions and large quotes wait for an approver.

Reports

Sales by medium and grade, restricted orders blocked, returns by reason and quotes by studio.

Integrations

What it connects to, and on what terms.

Payment gateway

Individual buyers pay at checkout, while institutions are invoiced on the terms you have agreed with them.

Carriers

Rate tables and routing rules loaded for the carriers you use.

Stock and billing

Linked to your counter software through what it can export, once tested.

Accounting

Sales and credit notes exported for your accountant.

Deployment

How it is set up and run.

Where the data sits

In an account you control or on infrastructure we manage, as you choose, with backups scheduled in either case.

Go-live

Opening is split by range or by buyer group, so a fault touches few orders.

Customisation boundaries

What can change, and where the edge is.

Per-business set-up

Each seller’s units, grades, price lists and workflows are entered and tested before launch.

Edge of scope

Tasks done outside the system, such as hand finishing or inspection, are recorded but not performed by it.

Migration and training

Moving over and getting people ready.

Cleaning first

Duplicate items, mixed units and missing details are found and fixed before the catalogue goes in.

Roles and rights

Access is set per role during training so each person sees what the work needs.

Support scope

What support covers.

Monitoring

Checkout, stock sync and order flow are watched, and failures are reported to your contact.

Extras

Work outside the written scope, such as marketplace feeds, is priced separately.

Subcategory coverage

Where each art supplies subcategory is covered.

Each subcategory is either covered by this solution or has a page of its own where its software requirements differ.

  • Paints

    Covered on this page

Shade, grade and set data are handled by the category catalogue, with restricted-goods flags added to its shipping rules.

  • Brushes

    Covered on this page

Attribute fields, size charts and sets are handled by the category catalogue without a separate system.

  • Canvases

    Its own solution page

Size-based pricing, a workshop job sheet and dimensional shipping make a made-to-order system rather than a catalogue.

  • Drawing Materials

    Covered on this page

Open stock, set builders and cross-brand codes fit within the category catalogue and stock model.

  • Art Paper

    Covered on this page

Specification fields, unit conversions and flat shipping are covered by the category solution.

  • Art Tools

    Covered on this page

Specification fields, spare parts and special packing can sit within the category solution.

Common questions

Questions about this solution.

Is this a product we can install tomorrow?

No. Each store is assembled after discovery, so there is nothing to install on day one.

Can it prove a paint’s lightfastness?

No. It shows the rating the maker publishes. Lightfastness testing is outside what a store can do.

Can the site match colours exactly?

No. Screens approximate a shade. The catalogue uses swatches and says so plainly.

Can I see the price list first?

No. We publish none. The cost follows from your range and rules, and the proposal states it after discovery.
