Electrical Components E-commerce & BOM Quotation Software

Part-number search, cross-references between makers and quotation from an uploaded bill of materials are added to an online store for electrical components. Each alternative carries its stated differences. A packaged commerce system carries the store, and the lookup and quoting tools are added to it.

Product status

Configured implementation on a commerce platform chosen in discovery

A packaged commerce system holds the store, with a cross-reference table and a bill-of-materials quotation tool added to it. No existing GullySystem product covers this.

There is no published price, free trial or live demo for this solution. Scope and cost are settled in a written proposal after discovery.

Purpose and users

The aim is to answer a part-number question and a hundred-line list without retyping. The cross-reference is the real asset here, and it improves every time a technical person corrects it.

It does not decide that two parts are equivalent. Your technical staff do, and the system keeps the stated differences beside each alternative.

Modules

What is in the system.

Part search

Maker numbers and alternatives, found from either.

Cross-reference table

Alternatives with their differences.

BOM quotation tool

Upload, match and quote with stock and lead time per line.

Datasheet library

A datasheet for each part.

Workflows

How the work runs through it.

Number to part

A buyer enters a number and sees the exact match, then the alternatives with their differences, then the datasheet for each.

List to quotation

A bill of materials is uploaded and matched line by line. It comes back as a quotation with stock and lead time on each line.

Catalogue and product data

What each product record holds.

Part fields

Maker, number, coil voltage, rating and mounting.

Alternatives

A link between two parts, with the difference between them stated in plain words.

Datasheets

Files attached to the part.

Pricing and order rules

How prices and orders are set.

Price per line

A price and a stock position for each part.

Break prices

Quantity breaks agreed with trade buyers.

Validity

A date after which the quotation lapses or is priced again.

Stock and fulfilment

From stock to the doorstep.

Stock by location

From your stock system, on an agreed schedule.

Lead times

An estimate for parts that must be ordered, shown on the line.

Part shipments

Parts in stock go first and the rest follow.

Payments, returns and refunds

Taking money and giving it back.

Payments

Account terms for trade and online payment for others.

Returns

Unused parts return under your terms.

Admin controls and reporting

What the team can see and change.

Roles

Technical staff edit alternatives. Sales cannot.

Reports

Quotation lines matched by hand, and the alternatives most often used. Useful for tuning.

Integrations

What it connects to, and on what terms.

Datasheets

Added as files from makers.

Distributor feeds

Only where a feed has been verified.

Stock system

Linked by export.

Deployment

How it is set up and run.

Configured build

Opened in your own account, on the commerce system chosen with you.

One maker first

One maker is loaded and tested before the rest.

Customisation boundaries

What can change, and where the edge is.

What can change

Fields, quotation layout and matching rules follow your trade.

Where the edge is

Equivalence decisions stay with your technical staff.

Migration and training

Moving over and getting people ready.

Moving the parts list

Parts and cross-references are loaded and then sampled against the maker’s own catalogue, so that wrong matches are caught before a buyer sees them.

Training

A session for technical sales and the quotation desk.

Support scope

What support covers.

Scope

Fixes to search, matching and quoting, with contacts named and the hours of cover written into the agreement.

Outside scope

A new maker’s data feed is separate work.

Common questions

Questions about this solution.

Is there an existing product for BOM quotation?

No. The tools are configured and added to a store, so nothing here is ready-made.

Does it choose alternatives for us?

No. Your staff enter them, and the system displays them with the differences.

Is it sensible to begin with a single maker?

Yes. One maker shows whether matching holds before others are added.
