Purpose and users

A contact lens order is only valid while its prescription is. The system keeps the prescription, its date and the lens it names in one record, so a repeat order is checked against it before dispatch.

It does not examine eyes or issue a prescription. It stores what the prescriber supplied, flags what has lapsed and keeps a batch history for every box sent.

No. The system is written to your requirements.

Will it renew a prescription for a customer?

No. A lapsed prescription is flagged and the customer is told to obtain a new one from a prescriber.

Can a recalled batch be traced?

Yes. Because every box is picked by batch, the orders that contained it can be listed.
