Roles, Sites and Access for Plant Monitoring
Operators, supervisors, maintenance, plant heads and owners each get their own machines and locations. A change to a threshold is recorded under the name of whoever made it.
Why access follows the role
A plant has people with different jobs, and one screen does not suit all of them, because each of them acts on a different part of the same record. An operator needs the stoppage list for one machine. An owner wants every site. Access is set so that each person opens the machines and locations that belong to their work.
What each role is given
Sites and who may change a rule
A company with several plants or buildings can group machines by site, and each person is given the sites they work in. Changing a threshold is recorded with a name, so a later review can see who altered a limit and when. Which roles may change limits is agreed with your team during implementation.
What the client decides
- The list of users and the role each one holds
- Which sites and machines each role can open
- Who may edit thresholds, routing and stoppage reason lists
- Who is removed when a person leaves, and by whom
Frequently asked questions
Can a supervisor see only their own line?
Yes. Screens follow the role and the machines given to that person, so a supervisor can be limited to one line or one site.
Is a threshold change recorded?
Yes. Each change is stored with its author’s name. Alerts and acknowledgements carry names in the same way.
Can the owner see all sites at once?
Yes. Owners and facility managers can be given every site, and they read it on a phone in a browser. What each site shows is agreed during scoping.
Who sets up the roles?
They are set with your team during implementation. After handover, the people you name as administrators manage the user list.
