Leave Requests and Approvals for Bakery Staff
Leave management takes requests from staff phones, shows the roster to the approver, and keeps each person’s balance visible. Approved leave appears in the week’s roster as soon as it is granted.
Request on a phone, approval against the roster
The request goes in from the person’s own phone, and the approver sees the week while deciding, so the answer accounts for cover on the floor. Approval given without the roster open is where gaps come from.
What the leave record carries
Planned and unplanned absence
Much of the absence in a bakery is an unannounced miss on the pre-dawn shift, and whoever opened the shop marks that afterwards. The module covers planned leave. That is the part that can be arranged in advance.
Frequently asked questions
Can a baker apply from a phone?
Yes. Most kitchen staff do not sit at a computer, so both the request and the reply are made on a phone. The approver answers from a phone too.
Who approves leave?
Whoever you set. In a single shop it is usually the owner. With several outlets, the person running each counter approves that outlet’s requests, and the owner can still read all of them.
Does it keep leave balances?
Yes, per person, against your own rule for how much leave each role gets in a year. The balance updates as approvals are made.
How are festival weeks handled?
Those periods can be blocked. If nobody gets leave in the week before Diwali, the period is marked, and requests for those dates do not reach the approver.
