Ad Accounts and Channel Log for Agencies
Paid work needs its own record. The ad accounts you handle, the budget agreed for a period and the numbers a media buyer notes afterwards sit with the client.
The ad account record
Through a campaign
A campaign is logged with its objective, its window and the creatives it ran. A media buyer updates spend and results at whatever rhythm your agency works to, weekly for most accounts. Budget left in the window is visible. An account nearing its agreed budget is flagged for the account manager to raise with the client.
Feeding billing and reports
Where your agency charges a management fee on spend, the recorded spend is what the invoice is worked out from. Pass-through billing of the ad budget itself, and how it is shown on an invoice, is settled with your accountant. The client report picks up the same numbers.
What this module does not do
It does not run or edit campaigns, and it makes no bid changes. Numbers arrive by hand or by import, so the platform remains the source of truth. Any direct connection to an ad platform depends on that platform and carries a quote of its own.
Frequently asked questions
Does it connect to Google Ads and Meta by itself?
Not by default. Figures are entered or imported from a downloaded sheet. A direct link depends on the platform and is sized separately.
Can one client have several ad accounts?
Yes. A brand may run Google, Meta and LinkedIn accounts at once, and each is logged with its own budget and buyer.
Who sees spend figures?
Media buyers, account managers and founders, as you choose. Designers usually have no reason to see them.
Is the ad budget treated as our income?
No. The record keeps client spend apart from your fee, and how either is treated in the books is for your accountant to advise on.
